The Adult Industry Awards Night

It was our night to relax – have fun and let the stars of our industry shine! Think Academy Awards with way less pretentiousness. Those in the adult industry share a bond – we are all involved in an industry that takes lots and lots of hard work. It also means we often need to stand proud against the judgement of those lesser informed. For myself, Shaun, Christine and Piper it was a chance for a well deserved night out and an opportunity to show our support for our nominee Christine.

Full credit to the organisers for holding the event in a 5 star hotel and putting on an event full of class.  Our industry has come a long way to gain this kind of recognition and acceptance.

For us the event started with a date with a hair and makeup artist. While our male manager slept off the his long shift from the night before, the ladies got a few early drinks in whilst we enjoyed being pampered. Our hair and makeup artists were quickly educated in the 101 of the adult industry. They took on board with much interest the banter that is quite unique to brothel operators. Of course no matter what the occasion, work commitments are never far away – our indulgent time was peppered with work texts – rosters incidents and the normal stuff that happens whenever brothel owners try to get away!!!!

By 7pm we were gorgeous, glamorous and ready to go. Shaun was a little overwhelmed at the responsibility of escorting 3 gorgeous women down the red carpet but he managed. I think we went all out in terms of our outfits. Special mention to Christine – already an award winner in her absolutely stunning gown!

The venue itself was beautifully decorated – the food was great and the flow of drinks was nothing short of impressive. But of course it was all about the company – the night included representatives from all parts of the adult industry. Best Adult Retail Store, Best Brothel, Best Escort, Best Strip Group, Best BJ and Best Anal – just to name a few.

As the presenters quickly moved through the awards our super star manager chose what appeared to be an opportune moment in between courses to duck outside. At this precise moment it was announced she had won! BEST ESCORT AGENCY RECEPTIONIST – this was of course the moment we had come for! Unfortunately Christine was no where to be seen! As the owner of the business I grabbed the opportunity to give the business a plug (and show off my amazing dress), Christine, hearing of her award belatedly joined me on stage – I feel she deserves a separate award for making a grand and memorable entrance!

The night ended with an after party on the roof of the Hyatt Regency, for most of us the memories of this part of the night are a little foggy.  However the view was amazing – the company fabulous and those drinks just kept on coming.
